All aircraft operators contracted to fly for fire control contracts must be able to pass aircraft tracking data into the USDA Forest Services Automated Flight Following (AFF) database, for reasons of safety and transparency.
Guardian was one of AFF's early supporters, and we have been selected by state and federal contractors since 2005. With a variety of portable tracking solutions, Guardian is your preferred provider of AFF and aircraft tracking.
For growing operators
"In 2005, we equipped our first aircraft with a Guardian device for our AFF work, because of its low cost, small size, low weight and simplicity of use. We've been very pleased. Since then, we've grown and we've equipped four more helicopters with Guardian 3 devices."
"The reliability and consistency of required reports have been excellent. I highly recommend the Guardian Mapping, Enhanced Edition as well.""

"Transwest Air is Saskatchewan's largest and longest operating airline, providing extensive scheduled flights & freight service to cities and towns throughout Saskatchewan, and to points in Alberta and Manitoba. Transwest Air also offers charter service of fixed wing and rotary aircraft, and operates a float plane base in Lynn Lake, Manitoba. We operate a diverse fleet of 48 aircraft.
We have been using Guardian 3 Flight Following System in our fleet for the past 4 years. Location data for some of our aircraft is automatically forwarded by Guardian to various government agencies in compliance with AFF contracts.
We recommend Guardian to any company requiring flight following as the most cost effective solution together with ease of installation and operation."
