We used the Tracer 3 on a 77-day skiing traverse across the Arctic wilderness of Svalbard, hoping it would allow our web-visitors to follow our progress. The tracer fulfilled this role completely, performing perfectly even under the extreme climatic conditions we dragged it through. Attached to the top of the sledge, the unit had to deal with Arctic storms, a hungry polar dog and several downhill skiing accidents but survived all in the best light. The transmissions themselves worked flawlessly reaching 80 degrees north during the trip. Thanks to Guardian Mobility and their Tracer 3, the interaction between us on the ice and students following us back home worked marvellously. We wouldn't go on the ice without the tracer again!
Greetings from the East Coast. Just wanted to drop a quick note letting you know that the new Tracer 3 units have been used here on three occasions since we have received them. The new units have received very favorable comments from the members using them in two practices and one actual search. From a planning perspective, they are a valuable asset! Best Regards.
We have had two searches in 3 weeks where we have used the Tracer 3 with great success. This past Tuesday we had a team that was outside VHF/cell contact and we could tell where they were too, great for a safety let alone knowing where the teams are located. The size of the new units are very manageable also. This past weekend our group volunteered our services at the Provincial Scout Jamboree, an event that ran from Friday to Monday with 400 participants. One of the activities was a two day hiking, canoeing, and rafting event for youth aged 14-18. About 15 youth and leaders participated in the event and in order to track their locations. Darryn gave the organizer a Tracer 3 device. The unit worked great and the Jamboree organizers were blown away with our ability to track the kids as they travelled on their two day excursion in an area were VHF coverage was spotty at best. It provided all with some peace of mind that we at least knew where they were located.
Well I took my inaugural trip with the Tracer and love it! My family and friends were able to track my progress from Denver to Daytona and back. They enjoyed knowing where I was, and to see that I was still motoring along. The Tracer was easy to install, easy to program and is effortless to use. Plus I now have a full track of my entire route for reference. I'll be looking forward to using it on my trip to Alaska and my family and friends will appreciate being able to keep track of me, no matter what route I choose! Kind regards.
We are extremely pleased with the performance of the Guardian Tracer. We found the product reliable and easy to use. The Guardian Configurator allows us to easily configure the unit to meet our tracking needs. We are also pleased with the functions provided by the Guardian Message Server, especially the ability to have messages forwarded to our cell phones. The Guardian team is very responsive and continually demonstrates a high level of professionalism.
"The British Columbia Forest Service, Protection Branch has been actively using both the Guardian SkyTrax and Guardian Tracer units to track our vehicles. As well, we are successfully tracking and recieving AFF compliant data from aircraft on hire to us that utilize this hardware. The Guardian products are easy to use, reliable and configurable to our needs."
"The capability of tracking the Cain's Quest Snowmobile Endurance Race on the web dramatically raised the profile of the event as it allowed people from all over to actually view in real time how the teams were progressing. It also helped to heighten exposure for snowmobiling in Labrador and was a great safety feature. The tracking system aired on the web, provided by Guardian Mobility and Waypoint Information Technology Inc. was one of the main features of our race."
"These GPS units were a critical part of providing access to the public, where they normally wouldn't have had any! Your contribution really made a difference in making this event more enjoyable and more professional. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting this type of GPS coverage."
"The Sentinel GPS by Guardian Mobility is a leading edge example of applications enabled by modern GPS technology. Small footprint, sensitivity and low power consumption enable new life saving applications that are easy to use, portable and reliable. The ability to locate and track basically anything, anytime is a true benefit to a number of government and commercial users, and opens up very promising market opportunities."
"We are very excited about the potential of Guardian Sentinel and its adaptability to a wide range of remote applications that require what we call situational awareness. We have been waiting a long time for a cost-effective solution and look forward to continuing our close working relationship with Guardian Mobility."
"Absolutely flawless operation. I just plugged in the battery pack and put it on the dashboard of my RV. It's that simple. Congratulations on a fine piece of rocket science!"
"Our company has been watching satellite tracking technology develop since 1998 as well as doing some testing over the past few years, we are very pleased with how easy Guardian Mobility has made the technology to use. The ability to track aircraft in real-time is very important to our type of work."
"Organizers cannot be more pleased with how the Canoe Quest was received by the participants and the public...Our live internet mapping web site had over 1.1 million hits from 30 countries in the world!...All this would not have been possible without your generous support and we cannot thank you enough."
