Guardian Mobility - Distributor for Flightcell Avionics Products

February 25th, 2008

Ottawa, Canada and Nelson, New Zealand – February 23, 2008 – Guardian Mobility Corporation and Flightcell International Limited have signed a distribution agreement whereby Guardian will have rights to resell the complete line of Flightcell avionics products, including the versatile Flightcell DZM satellite tracking system, throughout North America.  Flightcell DZM is the world’s most advanced all-in-one communications and tracking hub for commercial and military aviation.  DZM is a panel-mount module with simple user interface that connects to any satellite or cellular phone thereby providing integrated voice communications to the cockpit and to passengers.  The integrated GPS tracking system transmits aircraft positions based on a number of defined settings including time, course change, speed threshold as well as hot-key activation from the cabin in distress situations.

“Many of our customers are requesting more advanced tracking and communication systems for selected aircraft” declared Ian Stewart, head of Guardian’s Aviation Product group.  “We feel that including the DZM product with our current lineup of flight tracking solutions will give us added firepower to expand into the business and military aviation markets”. Guardian will be displaying their complete product line-up this month at Heli-Expo 2008 in Houston, TX.

The Flightcell DZM product will fit seamlessly into Guardian’s existing message management and web mapping services.  It is a premium product; however by making use of existing portable satellite or cellular phones, it is significantly more versatile and lower in cost compared to other installed voice and/or data systems.  The product ships fully compatible with the Iridium 9505/9505A satellite phones supporting voice, SMS and email communications.

According to Hamish Neill, Sales and Marketing Director at Flightcell International, “We look upon Guardian Mobility with their focus on web mapping and reporting services to be a key partner in the flight tracking market in North America but world-wide.  With their on-going sales to military customers, we expect that our ruggedized Military product range will receive added exposure into this highly demanding segment.”

About Flightcell International Limited
Flightcell international has been providing voice and data interfaces into the global aviation market since 1998. Its customer base has expanded across the globe into Military, Industrial, and general Aviation sectors. Flightcell DZM is a compact easily installed smart data and voice system providing pilot programmable global tracking. Guardian Mobility Announces North American Distributor of Spider Tracks

February 21st, 2008

Ottawa, Canada and Ashhurst, New Zealand – February 21, 2008 – Guardian Mobility Corporation and Spider Tracks Limited are pleased to announce a distribution agreement whereby Guardian will have rights to resell the Spider satellite tracking system throughout North America. The Spider represents a very complementary offering in the Guardian aviation product line being a portable, light-weight, self-contained GPS tracking platform. Operating on the Iridium satellite network, the Spider will add two-way communication capability to Guardian’s line of transmit-only SkytraxSL and Skytrax3X tracking products. Similar to the Skytrax products, Spider may be powered using a supplied cigarette lighter adapter plug for easy connection to the commonly available power socket. However, SkytraxSL remains the lightest, smallest, most power efficient satellite tracking platform capable of being powered by an AA battery pack.
“We think the Spider platform is an excellent and very compatible addition to our lineup of aviation tracking and flight following solutions” commented Jean Carr, CEO of Guardian Mobility. “The product will provide an added punch in our efforts to maintain rapid expansion into the AFF, light utility helicopter, and government/military markets.” Guardian will be displaying their complete product line-up this month at Heli-Expo 2008 in Houston, TX Booth #1343.
The Spider product will fit seamlessly into Guardian’s existing message management and web mapping services. It is expected to be priced competitive to the company’s original Skytrax3 product line albeit at a slight premium reflecting the fact that the device is a two-way wireless communications platform.
James McCarthy, Finance Director for Spider Tracks Limited, states that “the key to our early success has been in developing a good partner network with companies such as Guardian Mobility who have an established presence in the aircraft tracking business. We are seeing excellent early response to the Spider product due mainly to its purpose-built design and very simple installation.”

The Lost Ducks Post Thank You to Guardian Mobility

December 17th, 2007

“Lost Ducks” leave Saskatchewan November 28th (after Grey Cup!) heading to Chile with Skytrax on board!

The Lost Ducks - Los Patos Perdidos

“Special Thanks

The lost Ducks really appreciate Peter Parkinson and the technical people at Guardian Mobility in Ottawa for their efforts to provide us the instructions of “how to fix the fuse” our old tracker and at the same time provide a new unit already programmed and ready to use. Through their efforts we had a replacement unit in Mexico City in less than 24 hours – took a bit longer to get it to Puebla but that’s life.

A second acknowledgment is for Perry Casson, Medstead/Regina who provided us with the tracker in the first place and exchanged many emails and phone calls helping to get it working and fills in the comments and spaces we left blank, as in from Kerrville to Puebla.

Guardian Mobility GPS Tracking Service Used to Recover Stolen Florida Yacht

November 1st, 2007

Ottawa, Ontario – October 24, 2007 – The owner of a high-end offshore sport fishing boat berthed in Key Largo , FL, is feeling much better now that his craft is safely back home after a two-day unauthorized excursion across the Gulf of Mexico. The craft was first reported stolen on October 18 as the on-board GPS tracking unit came to life and started reporting movement while the owner was sound asleep at home. The unit, developed by Guardian Mobility Corporation of Ottawa, Canada and installed by Miami-based, Boat-Track Inc. is designed to transmit GPS locations every 15 minutes to a web-accessible mapping service where detailed movement of the asset is recorded and displayed. The map track showed that the vessel sailed to within one mile of the western coastline of Cuba during the evening of the theft and then mysteriously sat idle 50 miles off the coast the following day. That evening the vessel sailed to Isla Mujeres an island just off the coast of Cancun, Mexico. It was here that the owner, the insurance company and Mexican authorities recovered the boat as it arrived in Mexico.
NBC6 WTVJ picked up the story on October 22 and reported that the South Florida area was being plagued by numerous thefts of high powered offshore vessels over the past few months http://www.nbc6.net/news/14374070/detail.html. A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission report recently estimated that boat thefts in Miami-Dade alone were up more than 20 percent from last year and that the majority of these thefts can be linked to Cuban migrant smuggling. U.S. Border Patrol has shown a significant increase in Cuban migrants showing up along the U.S. - Mexico border after being ferried across the Yucatán Channel to Cancún and Isla Mujeres

Anthony Grondin, President of Boat-Track Inc., said “With the rise of boat thefts, using our Guardian-developed tracking service, you’ll know immediately if your boat starts to move without your knowledge plus there will be a better chance of successful recovery by the authorities. It’s also much more cost effective than protecting your boat with multiple layers of physical security”.

About Boat-Track Inc.
Boat-Track Inc. is a Miami based distributor of Guardian Mobility asset tracking devices specializing in marine installations for the protection of customers’ investments. Contact Anthony Grondin at 305-354-3441 or see their web site at www.boat-track.com .
